Meet Tessa, Our Dedicated Ashtanga Teacher

We asked Tessa what she loves most about teaching Ashtanga, and here’s what she shared:

Guiding students through the ancient asana practise lets students receive the pure benefits of yoga. I believe through following the ancient knowledge I am able to guide students deeper into unity than my own awereness is able to reach.

I am all about going back to the basics; silence provides a space to calm the mind, feel the breath and direct us to the truth of our innerbeings.

I find it important to integrate softness and gentleness to my classes to balance out the physically challenging practise, making it accessible and less intimitating.

The repetition of asanas and the longer holds allow our minds to stay present to observe inner reality. I feel honored to keep passing on the knowledge of thousands of years into the present.

Amy Bevan’s yoga journey began as a path to healing and self-discovery. As a lifelong athlete and someone who has faced significant personal challenges, yoga provided her with the tools to restore balance and reconnect with her body. Through the transformative power of movement and breath, Amy discovered the deep connection between physical well-being and mental clarity.

For Amy, yoga is more than just a practice; it is a way of life. It is about honouring the body’s wisdom, finding strength through vulnerability, and embracing the healing potential of each breath. Her teaching is rooted in a holistic approach to wellness, drawing on her background in nursing, movement, and breathwork. Amy’s mission is to help others achieve true self-awareness, strength, and inner peace through the practice of yoga, breathwork, and mindful movement.
