APANA Art Series Yoga Mat – Shanti

Feel supported in your yoga practice with APANA’s Art Series Mat Shanti. An environmentally friendly alternative to a commercial PVC, PU or foam based yoga mat. The microfibre top layer is naturally soft to touch and will provide greater grip when moisture is applied.

The base is made from 100% natural rubber providing cushioning and support for your knees and hips. Natural rubber comes from the rubber tree, where the milky white liquid latex is collected by hand from the trunk of the tree. This process is called tapping and does not harm the tree, which continues to benefit the environment. The natural rubber used in APANA mats is sustainable and sourced from South East Asian plantations.

The natural rubber base and microfibre top layer are heat-bonded together eliminating the need for nasty glues and toxic adhesives. This mat is designed in Australia with the conscious yogi in mind, our art series mats are soft to touch, extra wide and look beautiful providing a transformative practice each time you unroll your mat.

Introducing Shanti! Shanti is a sanskrit word meaning peace, rest or tranqulity. 

Shanti is a limited edition Art Series Mat designed by APANA’s founder, Sarah Malone. Sarah is not only the face behind the APANA brand, she is a practicing artist and yoga teacher. The artwork used on this mat comes from one of Sarah’s original artworks ‘Low Tide’.

Care Instructions:

We always recommend wiping down any yoga mat after each use. Use your favourite yoga mat spray or use our go to recipe to create your own. Our art series mat is machine washable, should you wish to do so, use a mild detergent on a gentle/delicates cycle. Allow your mat to dry in the shade, with the print on the reverse side. Ensure your mat is completely dry before rolling it back up. Store your mat in away from direct sunlight, in a dry location. Do not tumble dry or iron your mat.

Yogi Tip:

This luxurious art series mat is soft and supportive making it perfect for Yin or Restorative practices. If using for a more dynamic practice, such as Vinyasa or Ashtanga, we recommend lightly spraying your mat with water or yoga mat spray where your hands and feet go to increase grip while you get warmed up and sweaty! The natural rubber base will help keep you grounded and the microfibre top will become gripper the sweatier you become.
